My first job

When I was sixteen, I got a summer job in an ice-cream shop by the sea. I thought it would be easy and fun. After all, who doesn't like ice cream? But it was much harder than I expected.

The shop was always busy, especially in the afternoons, and there was a long queue of hot, impatient customers. I had to work fast and remember dozens of flavours. My arm hurt from serving the hard ice cream, and at the end of each day I was exhausted.

But the job taught me a lot. I learned to stay calm when people were rude, and I discovered that I was good at working in a team. I also saved enough money to buy my first laptop. Looking back, it was one of the best summers of my life.
